The Yonkers Police Department received a report at approximately 8:20 a.m. on July 16, of a dead body that was found alongside the shoulder of the eastbound lanes of Tuckahoe Road with multiple gunshot wounds near the I-87 overpass.
The body was found by a passerby, who reported it to police. Yonkers Police Sgt. Jared Singer identified the victim as Queens resident Brian Brain, 35, who was shot several times. Brain’s body was then sent Westchester County Medical Examiner for further evaluation.
Singer said that following an “exhaustive investigation,” it was determined that the incident involving Brain initially took place in Queens, and the body was brought to Yonkers following his death. The case has been turned over to the NYPD, who are taking over the investigation. No other information was released by investigators.
